Somatic Psychotherapy

When we believe in the wisdom of the body and its inherent healing rhythms, and understand the biological basis of many of our behaviors and natural responses to stress and trauma, we can significantly lessen any associated stigma and shame.

For me, therapy is a sacred connection and collaboration, with the therapist as guide or mentor. I bring a sense of deep respect, curiosity, and empathy, and invite in humor and playfulness when appropriate.

Working from a resource-based, trauma-sensitive approach, I integrate embodied awareness and relational therapy within a social justice framework inspired by liberation psychology, honoring cultural values, spiritual or religious beliefs, and each person’s unique identity and innate dignity.
