Therapeutic hypnosis is not:
- A form of mind control
- Losing consciousness or control
- Going to sleep
- Stage hypnosis (essentially, participants agreeing to be entertaining)
…it is:
- Safe
- A natural state
- Relaxed awareness
- A guided inner exploration based on your goals and desires
- Effective for realizing long-lasting change
In other words, hypnosis is simply being relaxed while also enjoying focused attention.
We naturally enter hypnotic or trance states throughout the day when we:
- Daydream
- Engage in creative activities
- Watch TV
- Read
- Listen to music
- Drive
- Meditate
- Are falling asleep, yet still aware of our surroundings
- Fully engage with our imagination while the conscious mind is relaxed

Hypnosis vs. hypnotherapy:
Hypnosis is the natural state of deep relaxation with focused attention that allows us to tap into our innate creativity and wisdom.
Hypnotherapy is a guided therapeutic process led by a trained practitioner to assist in inner discovery and help effect the change that you desire. Hypnosis through hypnotherapy helps you:
- achieve your goals
- address deep-seated beliefs or feeling ‘stuck’
- manage stress, change, transitions, or crossroads
- eliminate unwanted habits or behaviors
- explore dreams
- challenge and replace unhelpful or limiting subconscious beliefs and patterns
- explore life purpose or past lives
- increase self-insight and self-esteem
- deepen spiritual and meditation practices
- connect to inner wisdom
Hypnotherapy helps you achieve a
“state of inner absorption, concentration and focused attention…
like using a magnifying glass to focus the rays of the sun and
make them more powerful.”
-The American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (www.ASCH.net)
Who is hypnotizable?
In general, anyone can be hypnotized if desired.
Research has shown that hypnotherapy can effectively and beneficially change the way we function physiologically and neurologically.
